Happy Birthday, Sweet Pea!
I am so behind on posting our family events but I couldn't go to bed without acknowledging this very, very special day! Eight years ago today, we welcomed our second grand child into this world. It was a joyous day and that has been true of each day of Ashlyn's life. She is caring, loving, family oriented, smart, talented, atheletic (she is becoming a terrific gymnast) and has blessed the lives of family and friends. Ashlyn, you are loved by so many and it was our delight to celebrate your special day with you! May you have many, many more happy birthdays. Love, hugs, kisses, and blessings to you always.

I will be posting our other April happenings soon. Family celebrations are the best!

Happenings in March!

March was a great month for me. I was on the way to recovery from chemotherapy and was able to go to one of my favorite places with one of my favorite people, my baby sister Holly. Along with Alf, Holly was with me during chemo treatments and she was my sounding board throughout my cancer battle so Alf graciously gave his blessing to my renting of a great little beach cottage with its own pool only 1/2 a block from the beach at Panama City. Holly and I were there from Thursday through Sunday and we so enjoyed being together, our sweet little cottage, and the gorgeous sunsets each evening. We had a few scattered showers but the Lord provided us with beautiful, warm weather during our stay.

We had a great time on our early morning walks collecting seashells. Many of the shells were broken, though a few small ones were intact. It set me to thinking about people and how we sometimes ignore those who are broken. We all have experienced brokeness some time in our lives. Some of the most beautiful shells we retrieved were broken but, on closer examination, we observed the most beautiful colors, some were almost transparent. Isn't that how people are? When we take time to really observe and get to know them, even though they and we may be broken, we are able to see the God instilled beauty within. I think that's what Jesus meant when He said, "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shalll see God". If we look at others with pure motives, we will see the beauty within them that our heavenly Father placed there. How blessed we are!

After our return from the beach, Holly and I went to a consignment sale. I happened to have my grand boys, Jax and Grey, that day so their great grandma, Gigi, offered to babyysit. They even went on an adventure down to the creek. They had a grand time! Thanks Gigi, you bless all of our lives so much!
